Senior Level Opportunity Regulatory Compliance Director, Cryptocurrency (New Jersey, NJ)

Hybrid 4 days in office, 1 day Work From Home

Full Time Leadership Position

Competitive Base Salary + Bonuses + Relocation Allowance (if needed)

 

We’re looking for a highly experienced Compliance professional with a strong track record in both financial services and cryptocurrency, including 6+ years in analysis, due diligence, and investigations, with 5+ years in a leadership capacity.

 

A genuine interest in the crypto industry is key. You’ll need excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills to excel in a global, fast-paced environment.

 

Experience with transaction monitoring tools (e.g., Chainalysis, Actimize) and relevant certifications (e.g., CAMS) are preferred. A bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience is required. Prior experience in global and crypto settings is advantageous.

 

Main Responsibilities:

Compliance Framework: Develop and maintain robust compliance policies, procedures, controls, and frameworks.
Regulatory Compliance: Plan, monitor, and assess compliance with US and regional laws, regulations, and policies.
Examinations & Audits: Lead compliance examinations, audits, and assessments.
Compliance Reporting: Prepare compliance reports for management, the board, and other stakeholders.
Cross-functional Collaboration: Engage with internal teams to implement an effective global compliance program aligned with best practices.
Cryptocurrency Trade Monitoring: Monitor cryptocurrency trades for rule adherence and detect potential illegal activities (market manipulation, wash trading, etc.); Identify unusual activity, suspicious/illegal behaviors, and patterns to prevent and detect financial crimes on the crypto exchange.
AML Investigations: Conduct investigations, enhanced due diligence, prepare SAR narratives, and participate in ad-hoc projects as part of the AML Investigations team.
Escalation Point: Serve as a point of escalation for complex cases, providing expert guidance and resolving issues.

 

Requirements & Qualifications:

CAMS is a strong plus but not a requirement
Strong understanding and passion on crypto and crypto compliance/regulatory matters
Strong regulatory reporting experience
Ability to lead a team in the future
