Principal Engineer – Blockchain Architect
Location: Abu Dhabi, UAE [Hybrid]
Compensation: High base + Bonus, Benefits & Relocation Package
As the Principal Engineer – Blockchain Architect, you’ll lead the design, build, and evolution of their blockchain core, from wallet infrastructure and smart contract systems to cross-chain interoperability and protocol integration across public and permissioned networks.
You’ll define the architecture behind a cryptobank platform designed for scale, security, and flexibility. This includes everything from custodial/non-custodial wallets and DeFi protocols to staking, token lifecycle management, and L2 bridges. You’ll work closely with engineering, product, and security to make foundational decisions that enable the next generation of crypto services.
This is a hands-on, high-leverage role for someone who operates at the intersection of deep blockchain expertise and real-world system design.
What You’ll Do
Architect and lead implementation of:
- Custodial and non-custodial wallet infra (MPC, smart contract wallets, HSMs)
- Smart contract systems for token issuance, staking, governance (Solidity, Vyper, Rust)
- Cross-chain bridges and L2 interoperability (Ethereum, Arbitrum, zk-rollups, Solana)
- Node infrastructure, RPC optimization, infra-as-code
- Lead protocol and architecture decisions across L1s, L2s, and sidechains
- Design on-chain accounting, compliance logic, and multi-asset ledgers
- Codify standards, patterns, and reusable architecture for the wider team
- Track ecosystem shifts and advise leadership on protocol direction and risks
What We’re Looking For
- 6+ years in backend/infrastructure engineering
- 3+ years in blockchain systems
- You’ve built and shipped real crypto systems — not just demos
Deep knowledge of:
- EVM, Solidity/Vyper, token standards (ERC-20, ERC-721, ERC-4337)
- Wallets and secure key management (MPC, smart wallets, HSM)
- Blockchain node architecture and performance tuning
- L2s, zk-rollups, cross-chain infra
- Kubernetes, Docker, CI/CD, infra-as-code
Bonus Points
- zk-proofs (zk-SNARKs, zk-STARKs), privacy-focused systems
- Tokenomics, DAO architecture, or on-chain governance
- Experience integrating with fiat on/off ramps, KYC/AML logic
- Open-source protocol contributions, core dev experience
