About the Company

Our client is a fast-growing architecture and advisory consultancy operating across Australia and North America, supporting mid-market, enterprise, government, and financial services organisations through complex technology transformation.

Over the past 6.5 years, the business has built a strong reputation for its structured architecture methodology, helping organisations assess their current state, define their future state, and create practical, executable roadmaps across enterprise architecture, solution architecture, project delivery, change management, business analysis, and core business architecture.

The company is now expanding nationally and internationally, with active opportunities across South Australia, Sydney, Canada, and the US. As part of this growth, they are looking for a senior, client-facing Principal Solution Architect who can help lead conversations, shape transformation roadmaps, and represent the business at a senior stakeholder level.

The Role

This principal solution architect opportunity is a highly strategic and visible role, working closely with the leadership team to engage clients, understand their transformation goals, and help define the technology blueprint that will guide their decisions over the next 3-4 years.

You will work with clients through discovery workshops, current-state assessments, future-state design, architecture roadmaps, and work package definition. The role requires someone who can operate at both an enterprise architecture and solution architecture level, while also being confident enough to lead client conversations, attend industry events, speak to executives, and “sell the dream” around what good architecture can enable.

The business already has a strong technical architecture team in place. The gap they are looking to fill is someone who can combine deep technical credibility with exceptional communication, commercial presence, and stakeholder leadership.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead client-facing architecture engagements across enterprise, government, finance, and corporate environments.
  • Run workshops with senior stakeholders to assess the current state, identify gaps, and define future-state technology direction.
  • Develop architecture blueprints, maturity heatmaps, transformation roadmaps, and work packages.
  • Help clients understand how cloud, data, AI, and modern architecture patterns can support their business objectives.
  • Work across Microsoft, AWS, Databricks, data platforms, AI vendors, and broader enterprise technology ecosystems.
  • Review and oversee architecture documentation to ensure quality, clarity, and executive-level presentation.
  • Support pre-sales activity by shaping proposals, reviewing technical responses, and helping convert opportunities.
  • Attend industry events, build relationships, identify transformation opportunities, and represent the business as a senior thought leader.
  • Lead and mentor highly skilled architects, including overseeing delivery quality across engagements.
Work closely with leadership to support expansion across Australia, Canada, and the US.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Strong background as a Senior Solution Architect, Enterprise Architect, Principal Architect, or similar.
  • Proven experience across enterprise architecture, solution architecture, business architecture, and transformation roadmaps.
  • Strong technical foundation across cloud, data, integration, modern platforms, and enterprise technology environments.
  • Experience with Microsoft technologies is highly desirable, with AWS and Databricks also strongly regarded.
  • Ability to understand AI, data strategy, and modern cloud architecture well enough to guide clients and review technical work.
  • Strong pre-sales, advisory, consulting, or client-facing architecture experience.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present to executives and senior stakeholders.
  • High attention to detail, especially in architecture documentation, blueprinting, and client deliverables.
  • Confident, proactive, commercially minded, and comfortable building relationships at events or in boardroom settings.
  • Self-managed and capable of picking things up quickly without needing constant direction.
  • Forward-thinking, structured, and able to plan well ahead while still adapting to client needs.

Why Join?

This is a rare opportunity to join a growing consultancy at a pivotal stage of expansion. The business has a proven methodology, strong client demand, and a differentiated architecture offering that is already gaining traction across government, finance, and enterprise markets.

You will have the autonomy to shape major client engagements, work with highly skilled architects, and play a key role in expanding the company’s footprint across Australia and North America.

Their blueprint methodology is a major part of the value proposition, giving clients a clear view of their current state, future state, maturity gaps, and a practical roadmap for transformation. The business is also evolving this approach by bringing AI into the architecture layers and helping clients understand how vendors such as Microsoft, AWS, Databricks, and AI partners fit into their future architecture.

For someone excited by modern architecture, AI, data, cloud, and advisory work, this role offers the chance to sit at the front of meaningful transformation without the bureaucracy of a large consultancy.

Interview Process:

  • Initial interview with senior leadership, focused on experience, communication style, client capability, and cultural fit.
  • Final technical interview, including architecture and technical assessment.

Recruiter Note/s:

  • Must hold either Australian Citizenship or Permanent Residence
